Berean Standard Bible | New International Version |
For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? | 1For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? |
How long must I wrestle in my soul, with sorrow in my heart each day? How long will my enemy dominate me? | 2How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? |
Consider me and respond, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death, | 3Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, |
lest my enemy say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes rejoice when I fall. | 4and my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall. |
But I have trusted in Your loving devotion; my heart will rejoice in Your salvation. | 5But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. |
I will sing to the LORD, for He has been good to me. | 6I will sing the LORD's praise, for he has been good to me. |
