2His tent is in Salem, His dwelling place in Zion. | 2In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. |
3There He shattered the flaming arrows, the shield and sword and weapons of war. Selah | 3There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah. |
4You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains filled with game. | 4Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. |
5The valiant lie plundered; they sleep their last sleep. No men of might could lift a hand. | 5The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands. |
6At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and rider lie stunned. | 6At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep. |
7You alone are to be feared. When You are angry, who can stand before You? | 7Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? |
8From heaven You pronounced judgment, and the earth feared and was still | 8Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still, |
9when God rose up to judge, to save all the lowly of the earth. Selah | 9When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah. |
10Even the wrath of man shall praise You; with the survivors of wrath You will clothe Yourself. | 10Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain. |
11Make and fulfill your vows to the LORD your God; let all the neighboring lands bring tribute to Him who is to be feared. | 11Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared. |
12He breaks the spirits of princes; He is feared by the kings of the earth. | 12He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth. |
