| 1This is the message that was revealed to Isaiah son of Amoz concerning Judah and Jerusalem: | 1The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. |
| 2In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. | 2And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. |
| 3And many peoples will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. | 3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. |
| 4Then He will judge between the nations and arbitrate for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer take up the sword against nation, nor train anymore for war. | 4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. |
| 5Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the LORD. | 5O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD. |
| 6For You have abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled with influences from the east; they are soothsayers like the Philistines; they strike hands with the children of foreigners. | 6Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers. |
| 7Their land is full of silver and gold, with no limit to their treasures; their land is full of horses, with no limit to their chariots. | 7Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots: |
| 8Their land is full of idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made. | 8Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: |
| 9So mankind is brought low, and man is humbled—do not forgive them! | 9And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not. |
| 10Go into the rocks and hide in the dust from the terror of the LORD and the splendor of His majesty. | 10Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty. |
| 11The proud look of man will be humbled, and the loftiness of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. | 11The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. |
| 12For the Day of the LORD of Hosts will come against all the proud and lofty, against all that is exalted—it will be humbled— | 12For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: |
| 13against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up, against all the oaks of Bashan, | 13And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, |
| 14against all the tall mountains, against all the high hills, | 14And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, |
| 15against every high tower, against every fortified wall, | 15And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, |
| 16against every ship of Tarshish, and against every stately vessel. | 16And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures. |
| 17So the pride of man will be brought low, and the loftiness of men will be humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day, | 17And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. |
| 18and the idols will vanish completely. | 18And the idols he shall utterly abolish. |
| 19Men will flee to caves in the rocks and holes in the ground, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth. | 19And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. |
| 20In that day men will cast away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and gold—the idols they made to worship. | 20In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; |
| 21They will flee to caverns in the rocks and crevices in the cliffs, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth. | 21To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. |
| 22Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he? | 22Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of? |
