1And having called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, so as to cast them out and to heal every disease and every sickness (softness, weakness, disability).

2And the names of the twelve apostles are these: first Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax collector; James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 3Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him. 4Jesus sent these twelve away, having commanded them, saying, Do not go off unto the way of the ethnicities, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans;

5However go rather to those being lost sheep of the house of Israel. 6And going, preach, saying, The kingdom of the heavens has drawn hear. 7Heal those ailing (infirmed), raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons; freely you received freely, freely give. 8Do not acquire gold nor silver nor copper in your belts, 9Nor a traveler’s bag for (unto) the way, nor two tunics (undergarments), nor sandals, nor a staff: for worthy is the workman of his provisions. And into whatever city or village you enter, inquire (closely examine) who in it is worthy, and there remain until you go out. 10And entering into the house, greet it. 11And if indeed the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it; however if it not be worthy, let your peace return to you. 12And whoever will not welcomingly receive you nor will hear your words, going outside of that house or that there city, shake off (out) the dust of your feet. 13Truly I say to you, It will be more tolerable (endurable) for the land of Sodom and of Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that there city. 14Behold, I send you away like as sheep in the midst of wolves: therefore be you shrewd (smart, savvy, sensible, practically wise, intelligent, prudent, latin-prudentes-prudent) as the serpents, and innocent (unmingled, unmixed, latin-simplices-simple) as the doves. 15However beware of (away from) men; for they will hand you over unto the courts and they will flog you in their synagogues:

16And you will be brought before (upon) governors and kings also on account of Me unto a testimony to them and to the ethnicities. 17And when they hand you over, do not be anxious [for] how or what you should speak: for it will be given to you in that there hour what you should say. 18For you are not those speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking in you. 19And brother will hand over brother unto death; and father, child. And children will rise up against (upon) parents, and will put them to death. 20And you will be hated (detested) by all on account of My name; however the one having endured unto the end, he will be saved.

21And whenever they persecute you in this city, flee unto a different one. For truly I say to you, You will not have completed the cities of Israel until the Son of Man be come. 22The disciple is not above (over) the teacher, nor the bond-servant above (over) his lord.

23It is enough (sufficient) for the disciple that he become as his teacher, and the bond-servant as his lord. If they called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those house members of Him?

24Therefore you should not fear them; for nothing is concealed which will not be revealed, and hidden which will not be known. 25What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach (herald, proclaim) upon the housetops.

26And you should not be fearful of those killing the body, however are not able to kill the soul; however you should fear rather the one being able to destroy both the soul and body in hell (gehenna). 27Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion (small Roman coin of little value)? And not one from out of them will fall upon the ground without (without the cooperation or knowledge of) your Father. 28And of you even the hairs of the head are all numbered. 29Therefore you should not fear; you are worth more than (superior, surpassing) many sparrows. 30Therefore everyone who will confess in Me before men, I also will confess in him before My Father who is in the heavens. 31However, whoever shall deny Me before men, I also will deny him before My Father who is in the heavens.

32Do not suppose that I came to bring peace upon the earth; I did not came to bring peace, but a sword (slaughter dagger). 33For I came to set as variance (separate by placing a divide) a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

34And the enemies of a man, those of his household. 35The one loving (philon, a fond affectionate loving) father or mother above (over) Me is not worthy of Me; and the one loving (philon, a fond affectionate loving) son or daughter above (over) Me is not worthy of Me. 36And he who does not take (receive) his cross and follow after (behind) Me is not worthy of Me.

37He who having found his life (soul) will lose it; and he who having lost his life (soul) for the sake of (on account of) Me will find it. 38The one welcomingly receiving you, welcomingly receives Me; and the one welcomingly receiving Me, welcomingly receives the One having sent Me. 39The one welcomingly receiving a prophet in (unto) the name of a prophet will receive the reward of a prophet; and the one welcomingly receiving a righteous (just) [man] in (unto) the name of a righteous (just) [man] will receive the reward of a righteous [man].

40And whoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold [drink/water], only in (unto) the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward. (could possibly be rendered- And whoever in the name of a disciple shall give to drink to one of these little ones only a cup of cold [drink/water], truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.) 41And it happened when Jesus had finished commanding (thoroughly gave orders) His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and preach in their cities. 42And John having heard in prison the works of the Christ, having sent two of his disciples,
