(a) After Absalom had polluted it with most filthy fornication. (b) He condemns them for great ingratitude who do not praise God for his benefits. O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast {c} healed me.

(e) The word signifies them who have received mercy, and show mercy liberally to others. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (g) I put too much confidence in my quiet state as in Jer 31:18, 2Ch 32:24,25. LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. (k) David means that the dead are not profitable to the congregation of the Lord here in the earth: therefore he would live to praise his Name, which is the end of man's creation.
