Good News Translation
Even though Asa did not destroy all the pagan places of worship, he remained faithful to the LORD all his life.

But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was true to the LORD all his days.

As long as Asa lived, he was completely faithful to the LORD, even though he did not destroy the local shrines.
