God's Awareness

The concept of God's awareness is foundational to understanding His nature and His relationship with creation. Scripture affirms that God is omniscient, meaning He possesses complete and perfect knowledge of all things, past, present, and future. This divine attribute is evident throughout the Bible, where God's awareness extends to the minutest details of the universe and the innermost thoughts of human hearts.

Psalm 139:1-4 beautifully encapsulates God's intimate knowledge of individuals: "O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You understand my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down; You are aware of all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, O LORD." This passage highlights that God's awareness is not limited to actions but encompasses thoughts and intentions.

Furthermore, God's awareness is not passive but active and purposeful. Hebrews 4:13 states, "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." This verse underscores that God's knowledge is comprehensive and serves as the basis for His righteous judgment.

God's Judgment

God's judgment is a central theme in the Bible, reflecting His holiness, justice, and righteousness. The Scriptures reveal that God, as the ultimate judge, will hold every person accountable for their actions. His judgments are always fair, impartial, and based on His perfect knowledge.

The Bible presents God's judgment in both temporal and eternal dimensions. In the temporal sense, God exercises judgment within history, as seen in the narratives of the Old Testament. For example, the judgment upon Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19) and the plagues upon Egypt (Exodus 7-12) demonstrate God's intervention in human affairs to uphold justice and righteousness.

Eternal judgment is a key aspect of Christian eschatology. The New Testament emphasizes that all humanity will stand before God's judgment seat. Romans 14:10-12 declares, "For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: 'As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before Me; every tongue will confess to God.' So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God." This passage affirms the universality of God's judgment and the personal accountability of every individual.

The final judgment is vividly depicted in Revelation 20:11-15 , where the dead are judged according to their deeds, and those not found in the Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire. This scene underscores the gravity and finality of God's judgment, as well as the ultimate separation between the righteous and the wicked.

God's judgment is also tempered by His mercy and grace. Through Jesus Christ, believers are offered salvation and the assurance of eternal life. John 3:16-17 proclaims, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." This passage highlights that while God's judgment is certain, His desire is for redemption and reconciliation through faith in Christ.
