When asked by God what he desired, Solomon prayed, “Give me wisdom and knowledge to lead this people” (2 Chronicles 1:10). His legendary wisdom and building of the Temple brought worldwide admiration. However, his later years were clouded by divided loyalties, reminding us that spiritual focus must endure.

4. Rehoboam – A Harsh Ruler Who Lost Unity

Taking the throne after Solomon, Rehoboam showed inflexibility. Instead of easing burdens, he chose a more aggressive approach, and the kingdom split. Jehoshaphat strengthened his kingdom through spiritual reforms and bold reliance on God. Despite some questionable alliances, he famously declared trust in the divine over military might. His story blends caution with courage, illustrating that real prosperity begins with reverence.

8. Hezekiah – Revival and Miraculous Deliverance

Known for smashing idols and reopening the Temple, Hezekiah fervently prayed. “Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, read it, and went up to the house of the LORD” (2 Kings 19:14).
