1A Song of Ascents. O LORD, remember on behalf of David all the hardships he endured, 1שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת זְכוֹר־ יְהוָ֥ה לְדָוִ֑ד אֵ֝ת כָּל־ עֻנּוֹתֽוֹ׃
2how he swore an oath to the LORD, [and] vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: 2אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִ֭שְׁבַּע לַיהוָ֑ה נָ֝דַ֗ר לַאֲבִ֥יר יַעֲקֹֽב׃
3“I will not enter my house or get into my bed, 3אִם־ אָ֭בֹא בְּאֹ֣הֶל בֵּיתִ֑י אִם־ אֶ֝עֱלֶ֗ה עַל־ עֶ֥רֶשׂ יְצוּעָֽי׃
4I will not give sleep to my eyes [or] slumber to my eyelids, 4אִם־ אֶתֵּ֣ן שְׁנַ֣ת לְעֵינָ֑י לְֽעַפְעַפַּ֥י תְּנוּמָֽה׃
5until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.” 5עַד־ אֶמְצָ֣א מָ֭קוֹם לַיהוָ֑ה מִ֝שְׁכָּנ֗וֹת לַאֲבִ֥יר יַעֲקֹֽב׃
6We heard [the ark] was in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. 6הִנֵּֽה־ שְׁמַֽעֲנ֥וּהָ בְאֶפְרָ֑תָה מְ֝צָאנ֗וּהָ בִּשְׂדֵי־ יָֽעַר׃
7Let us go to His dwelling place; let us worship at His footstool. 7נָב֥וֹאָה לְמִשְׁכְּנוֹתָ֑יו נִ֝שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֗ה לַהֲדֹ֥ם רַגְלָֽיו׃
8Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. 8קוּמָ֣ה יְ֭הוָה לִמְנוּחָתֶ֑ךָ אַ֝תָּ֗ה וַאֲר֥וֹן עֻזֶּֽךָ׃
9May Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and Your saints shout for joy. 9כֹּהֲנֶ֥יךָ יִלְבְּשׁוּ־ צֶ֑דֶק וַחֲסִידֶ֥יךָ יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃
10For the sake of Your servant David, do not reject Your anointed one. 10בַּ֭עֲבוּר דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ אַל־ תָּ֝שֵׁ֗ב פְּנֵ֣י מְשִׁיחֶֽךָ׃
11The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise He will not revoke: “One of your descendants I will set upon your throne. 11נִשְׁבַּֽע־ יְהוָ֨ה ׀ לְדָוִ֡ד אֱמֶת֮ לֹֽא־ יָשׁ֪וּב מִ֫מֶּ֥נָּה מִפְּרִ֥י בִטְנְךָ֑ אָ֝שִׁ֗ית לְכִסֵּא־ לָֽךְ׃
12If your sons keep My covenant and the testimony I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever and ever.” 12אִֽם־ יִשְׁמְר֬וּ בָנֶ֨יךָ ׀ בְּרִיתִי֮ וְעֵדֹתִ֥י ז֗וֹ אֲלַ֫מְּדֵ֥ם גַּם־ בְּנֵיהֶ֥ם עֲדֵי־ עַ֑ד יֵ֝שְׁב֗וּ לְכִסֵּא־ לָֽךְ׃
13For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His home: 13כִּֽי־ בָחַ֣ר יְהוָ֣ה בְּצִיּ֑וֹן אִ֝וָּ֗הּ לְמוֹשָׁ֥ב לֽוֹ׃
14“This is My resting place forever and ever; here I will dwell, for I have desired [this home]. 14זֹאת־ מְנוּחָתִ֥י עֲדֵי־ עַ֑ד פֹּֽה־ אֵ֝שֵׁ֗ב כִּ֣י אִוִּתִֽיהָ׃
15I will bless her with abundant provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread. 15צֵ֭ידָהּ בָּרֵ֣ךְ אֲבָרֵ֑ךְ אֶ֝בְיוֹנֶ֗יהָ אַשְׂבִּ֥יעַֽ לָֽחֶם׃
16I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will sing out in joy. 16וְֽ֭כֹהֲנֶיהָ אַלְבִּ֣ישׁ יֶ֑שַׁע וַ֝חֲסִידֶ֗יהָ רַנֵּ֥ן יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃
17There I will make a horn grow for David; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed one. 17שָׁ֤ם אַצְמִ֣יחַ קֶ֣רֶן לְדָוִ֑ד עָרַ֥כְתִּי נֵ֝֗ר לִמְשִׁיחִֽי׃
18I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown upon him will gleam.” 18א֭וֹיְבָיו אַלְבִּ֣ישׁ בֹּ֑שֶׁת וְ֝עָלָ֗יו יָצִ֥יץ נִזְרֽוֹ׃
