Parallel Chapters Hosea Redeems his Wife
(Zechariah 2:6-13) | 1The LORD said to me, "Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the LORD loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes." | 1And the LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins.” | 1Then the LORD said to me, "Go again, love a woman who is loved by her husband, yet an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the sons of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes." | 1Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine. | 1Then the LORD said to me, "Go again; show love to a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, just as the LORD loves the Israelites though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes." |
| 2So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and about a homer and a lethek of barley. | 2So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a lethech of barley. | 2So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a half of barley. | 2So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley: | 2So I bought her for 15 shekels of silver and five bushels of barley. |
| 3Then I told her, "You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will behave the same way toward you." | 3And I said to her, “You must dwell as mine for many days. You shall not play the whore, or belong to another man; so will I also be to you.” | 3Then I said to her, "You shall stay with me for many days. You shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a man; so I will also be toward you." | 3And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee. | 3I said to her, "You must live with me many days. Don't be promiscuous or belong to any man, and I will act the same way toward you." |
| 4For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or household gods. | 4For the children of Israel shall dwell many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without ephod or household gods. | 4For the sons of Israel will remain for many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar and without ephod or household idols. | 4For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: | 4For the Israelites must live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, and without ephod or household idols. |
| 5Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days. | 5Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and they shall come in fear to the LORD and to his goodness in the latter days. | 5Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness in the last days. | 5Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days. | 5Afterward, the people of Israel will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come with awe to the LORD and to His goodness in the last days. |
