New Living Translation | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song. Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful. | 1Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. |
O Israel, rejoice in your Maker. O people of Jerusalem, exult in your King. | 2Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. |
Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp. | 3Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. |
For the LORD delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. | 4For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. |
Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds. | 5Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds. |
Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a sharp sword in their hands— | 6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, |
to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, | 7To execute vengeance on the nations And punishment on the peoples, |
to bind their kings with shackles and their leaders with iron chains, | 8To bind their kings with chains And their nobles with fetters of iron, |
to execute the judgment written against them. This is the glorious privilege of his faithful ones. Praise the LORD! | 9To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD! |
