| 1I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. | 1Davidic. I will give You thanks with all my heart; I will sing Your praise before the heavenly beings. |
| 2I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. | 2I will bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your constant love and truth. You have exalted Your name and Your promise above everything else. |
| 3As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength. | 3On the day I called, You answered me; You increased strength within me. |
| 4Every king in all the earth will thank you, LORD, for all of them will hear your words. | 4All the kings on earth will give You thanks, LORD, when they hear what You have promised. |
| 5Yes, they will sing about the LORD’s ways, for the glory of the LORD is very great. | 5They will sing of the LORD's ways, for the LORD's glory is great. |
| 6Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud. | 6Though the LORD is exalted, He takes note of the humble; but He knows the haughty from a distance. |
| 7Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. | 7If I walk into the thick of danger, You will preserve my life from the anger of my enemies. You will extend Your hand; Your right hand will save me. |
| 8The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. | 8The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me. LORD, Your love is eternal; do not abandon the work of Your hands. |
