| 1The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. | 1The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, |
| 2For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. | 2for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. |
| 3Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? | 3Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? |
| 4Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. | 4He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. |
