New King James Version | New Living Translation |
Vindicate me, O God, And plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man! | 1Declare me innocent, O God! Defend me against these ungodly people. Rescue me from these unjust liars. |
For You are the God of my strength; Why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? | 2For you are God, my only safe haven. Why have you tossed me aside? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies? |
Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle. | 3Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live. |
Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God. | 4There I will go to the altar of God, to God—the source of all my joy. I will praise you with my harp, O God, my God! |
Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. | 5Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! |
