| 1I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. | 1I love the LORD because he heard my plea for mercy, |
| 2Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. | 2and listened to me. As long as I live, I will call to him when I need help. |
| 3The pains of death surrounded me, And the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow. | 3The ropes of death tightened around me, the snares of Sheol confronted me. I was confronted with trouble and sorrow. |
| 4Then I called upon the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I implore You, deliver my soul!” | 4I called on the name of the LORD, "Please LORD, rescue my life!" |
