Psalm 11
NKJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionInternational Standard Version
1To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. In the LORD I put my trust; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”?1I take refuge in the LORD. So how can you say to me, "Flee like a bird to the mountains."?
2For look! The wicked bend their bow, They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.2Look, the wicked have bent their bow and placed their arrow on the string, to shoot from the darkness at the upright in heart.
3If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?3When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
4The LORD is in His holy temple, The LORD’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.4The LORD is in his holy Temple; the LORD's throne is in the heavens. His eyes see, his glance examines humanity.
5The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.5The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence, he hates.
6Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup.6He rains on the wicked burning coals and sulfur; a scorching wind is their destiny.
7For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.7Indeed, the LORD is righteous; he loves righteousness; the upright will see him face-to-face.
