New King James Version | Christian Standard Bible |
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; | 1How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! |
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. | 2Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. |
He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. | 3He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. |
The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. | 4The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away. |
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. | 5Therefore the wicked will not stand up in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. |
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish. | 6For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin. |
