Of David. Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. | 1A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. |
Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits-- | 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; |
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, | 3Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; |
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, | 4Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; |
who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. | 5Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle. |
The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. | 6The LORD performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed. |
He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: | 7He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel. |
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. | 8The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. |
He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; | 9He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. |
he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. | 10He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. |
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; | 11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. |
as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. | 12As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. |
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; | 13Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. |
for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. | 14For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. |
The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; | 15As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. |
the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. | 16When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place acknowledges it no longer. |
But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children-- | 17But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children, |
with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. | 18To those who keep His covenant And remember His precepts to do them. |
The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. | 19The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all. |
Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. | 20Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word! |
Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. | 21Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will. |
Praise the LORD, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the LORD, my soul. | 22Bless the LORD, all you works of His, In all places of His dominion; Bless the LORD, O my soul! |
