New American Standard Bible 1995 | New International Version |
A Song of Ascents. How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways. | 1A song of ascents. Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him. |
When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, You will be happy and it will be well with you. | 2You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. |
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine Within your house, Your children like olive plants Around your table. | 3Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. |
Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD. | 4Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the LORD. |
The LORD bless you from Zion, And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. | 5May the LORD bless you from Zion; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. |
Indeed, may you see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel! | 6May you live to see your children's children-- peace be on Israel. |
