O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. | 1Come! Let's sing for joy to the LORD! Let's shout out praises to our protector who delivers us! |
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. | 2Let's enter his presence with thanksgiving! Let's shout out to him in celebration! |
For the LORD is a great God And a great King above all gods, | 3For the LORD is a great God, a great king who is superior to all gods. |
In whose hand are the depths of the earth, The peaks of the mountains are His also. | 4The depths of the earth are in his hand, and the mountain peaks belong to him. |
The sea is His, for it was He who made it, And His hands formed the dry land. | 5The sea is his, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land. |
Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. | 6Come! Let's bow down and worship! Let's kneel before the LORD, our creator! |
For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, | 7For he is our God; we are the people of his pasture, the sheep he owns. Today, if only you would obey him! |
Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness, | 8He says, "Do not be stubborn like they were at Meribah, like they were that day at Massah in the wilderness, |
"When your fathers tested Me, They tried Me, though they had seen My work. | 9where your ancestors challenged my authority, and tried my patience, even though they had seen my work. |
"For forty years I loathed that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways. | 10For forty years I was continually disgusted with that generation, and I said, 'These people desire to go astray; they do not obey my commands.' |
"Therefore I swore in My anger, Truly they shall not enter into My rest." | 11So I made a vow in my anger, 'They will never enter into the resting place I had set aside for them.'" |
