| 1For the choir director. A Psalm of David; for a memorial. O God, hasten to deliver me; O LORD, hasten to my help! | 1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD. |
| 2Let those be ashamed and humiliated Who seek my life; Let those be turned back and dishonored Who delight in my hurt. | 2Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. |
| 3Let those be turned back because of their shame Who say, "Aha, aha!" | 3Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. |
| 4Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, "Let God be magnified." | 4Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. |
