King James Bible | New Living Translation |
A Song of degrees. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. | 1How joyful are those who fear the LORD— all who follow his ways! |
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. | 2You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be! |
Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. | 3Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. |
Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. | 4That is the LORD’s blessing for those who fear him. |
The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. | 5May the LORD continually bless you from Zion. May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live. |
Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel. | 6May you live to enjoy your grandchildren. May Israel have peace! |
