King James Bible | New International Version |
A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah. His foundation is in the holy mountains. | 1Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. A song. He has founded his city on the holy mountain. |
The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. | 2The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob. |
Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah. | 3Glorious things are said of you, city of God: |
I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there. | 4"I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me-- Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush -- and will say, 'This one was born in Zion.'" |
And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her. | 5Indeed, of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her." |
The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah. | 6The LORD will write in the register of the peoples: "This one was born in Zion." |
As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee. | 7As they make music they will sing, "All my fountains are in you." |
