| 3If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he is to present to the LORD a young, unblemished bull as a sin offering for the sin he has committed. | 3"'If the high priest sins so that the people are guilty, on account of the sin he has committed he must present a flawless young bull to the LORD for a sin offering. |
| 4He must bring the bull to the entrance to the tent of meeting before the LORD, lay his hand on the bull's head, and slaughter it before the LORD. | 4He must bring the bull to the entrance of the Meeting Tent before the LORD, lay his hand on the head of the bull, and slaughter the bull before the LORD. |

| 8He is to remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering: the fat surrounding the entrails, all the fat that is on the entrails, | 8"'Then he must take up all the fat from the sin offering bull: the fat covering the entrails and all the fat surrounding the entrails, |
| 9and the two kidneys with the fat on them at the loins. He will also remove the fatty lobe of the liver with the kidneys, | 9the two kidneys with the fat on their sinews, and the protruding lobe on the liver (which he is to remove along with the kidneys) |
| 10just as the fat is removed from the ox of the fellowship sacrifice. The priest is to burn them on the altar of burnt offering. | 10 --just as it is taken from the ox of the peace offering sacrifice--and the priest must offer them up in smoke on the altar of burnt offering. |

| 13Now if the whole community of Israel errs, and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly, so that they violate any of the LORD's commands and incur guilt by doing what is prohibited, | 13"'If the whole congregation of Israel strays unintentionally and the matter is not noticed by the assembly, and they violate one of the Lord's commandments, which must not be violated, so they become guilty, |
| 14then the assembly must present a young bull as a sin offering. When the sin they have committed in regard to the command becomes known, they are to bring it before the tent of meeting. | 14the assembly must present a young bull for a sin offering when the sin they have committed becomes known. | 20He is to offer this bull just as he did with the bull in the sin offering; he will offer it the same way. So the priest will make atonement on their behalf, and they will be forgiven. | 20He must do with the rest of the bull just as he did with the bull of the sin offering; this is what he must do with it. So the priest will make atonement on their behalf and they will be forgiven. |
| 21Then he will bring the bull outside the camp and burn it just as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly." | 21He must bring the rest of the bull outside the camp and burn it just as he burned the first bull--it is the sin offering of the assembly. |
| 22When a leader sins and unintentionally violates any of the commands of the LORD his God by doing what is prohibited, and incurs guilt, | 22"'Whenever a leader, by straying unintentionally, sins and violates one of the commandments of the LORD his God which must not be violated, and he pleads guilty, |
| 23or someone informs him about the sin he has committed, he is to bring an unblemished male goat as his offering. | 23or his sin that he committed is made known to him, he must bring a flawless male goat as his offering. |
| 24He is to lay his hand on the head of the goat and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the LORD. It is a sin offering. | 24He must lay his hand on the head of the male goat and slaughter it in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the LORD--it is a sin offering. |
| 25Then the priest must take some of the blood from the sin offering with his finger and apply it to the horns of the altar of burnt offering. | 27Now if any of the common people sins unintentionally by violating one of the LORD's commands, does what is prohibited, and incurs guilt, | 27"'If an ordinary individual sins by straying unintentionally when he violates one of the Lord's commandments which must not be violated, and he pleads guilty |
| 28or if someone informs him about the sin he has committed, then he is to bring an unblemished female goat as his offering for the sin that he has committed. | 28or his sin that he committed is made known to him, he must bring a flawless female goat as his offering for the sin that he committed. |
| 29He is to lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering. | 29He must lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter the sin offering in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered. |
| 30Then the priest must take some of its blood with his finger and apply it to the horns of the altar of burnt offering. In this way the priest will make atonement on his behalf, and he will be forgiven." | 31Then he must remove all of its fat (just as fat was removed from the peace offering sacrifice) and the priest must offer it up in smoke on the altar for a soothing aroma to the LORD. So the priest will make atonement on his behalf and he will be forgiven. |
| 32Or if the offering that he brings as a sin offering is a lamb, he is to bring an unblemished female. | 32"'But if he brings a sheep as his offering, for a sin offering, he must bring a flawless female. |
| 33He is to lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it as a sin offering at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered. | 33He must lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it for a sin offering in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered. |
| 34Then the priest must take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and apply it to the horns of the altar of burnt offering. | 35He is to remove all its fat just as the fat of the lamb is removed from the fellowship sacrifice. The priest will burn it on the altar along with the fire offerings to the LORD. In this way the priest will make atonement on his behalf for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven." | 35Then the one who brought the offering must remove all its fat (just as the fat of the sheep is removed from the peace offering sacrifice) and the priest must offer them up in smoke on the altar on top of the other gifts of the LORD. So the priest will make atonement on his behalf for his sin which he has committed and he will be forgiven. |
