Holman Christian Standard Bible | International Standard Version |
A psalm of Asaph. God has taken His place in the divine assembly; He judges among the gods:" | 1 God takes his stand in the divine assembly; among the divine beings he renders judgment: |
How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah | 2"How long will you judge partially by showing favor on the wicked? Interlude |
Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. | 3"Defend the poor and the fatherless. Vindicate the afflicted and the poor. |
Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the power of the wicked." | 4Rescue the poor and the needy, delivering them from the power of the wicked. |
They do not know or understand; they wander in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken. | 5They neither know nor understand; they walk about in the dark while all the foundations of the earth are shaken. |
I said, "You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High. | 6"Indeed I said, 'You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High. |
However, you will die like men and fall like any other ruler." | 7However, as all human beings do, you will die, and like other rulers, you will fall.' |
Rise up, God, judge the earth, for all the nations belong to You. | 8Arise, God, to judge the earth, for all nations belong to you. |
