God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might! | 1For the choir director; on stringed instruments. A Maskil of David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, "Is not David hiding himself among us?" Save me, O God, by Your name, And vindicate me by Your power. |
God, hear my prayer; listen to the words from my mouth. | 2Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth. |
For strangers rise up against me, and violent men intend to kill me. They do not let God guide them. Selah | 3For strangers have risen against me And violent men have sought my life; They have not set God before them. Selah. |
God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my life. | 4Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul. |
He will repay my adversaries for their evil. Because of your faithfulness, annihilate them. | 5He will recompense the evil to my foes; Destroy them in Your faithfulness. |
I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you. I will praise your name, LORD, because it is good. | 6Willingly I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks to Your name, O LORD, for it is good. |
For he has rescued me from every trouble, and my eye has looked down on my enemies. | 7For He has delivered me from all trouble, And my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies. |
