The fool says in his heart, "There's no God." They are corrupt; they do vile deeds. There is no one who does good.1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
The LORD looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God.2The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one.3They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Will evildoers never understand? They consume my people as they consume bread; they do not call on the LORD.4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
Then they will be filled with dread, for God is with those who are righteous.5There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
You sinners frustrate the plans of the oppressed, but the LORD is his refuge.6Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
Oh, that Israel's deliverance would come from Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.7Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
