1A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” | 1This is the declaration of the LORD to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool." |
2The LORD extends Your mighty scepter from Zion: “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” | 2The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion. Rule over your surrounding enemies. |
3Your people shall be willing on Your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, to You belongs the dew of Your youth. | 3Your people will volunteer on your day of battle. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, the dew of your youth belongs to you. |
4The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” | 4The LORD has sworn an oath and will not take it back: "You are a priest forever according to the pattern of Melchizedek." |
5The Lord is at Your right hand; He will crush kings in the day of His wrath. | 5The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his anger. |
6He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead; He will crush the leaders far and wide. | 6He will judge the nations, heaping up corpses; he will crush leaders over the entire world. |
7He will drink from the brook by the road; therefore He will lift up His head. | 7He will drink from the brook by the road; therefore, he will lift up his head. |
