The concept of "reenter" in the biblical context often involves themes of return, restoration, and renewal. While the specific term "reenter" may not be directly used in the Berean Standard Bible, the idea is prevalent throughout Scripture, particularly in narratives involving the return to a place, state, or relationship with God.

Return from Exile

One of the most significant themes of reentry in the Bible is the return of the Israelites from exile. After being taken captive by Babylon, the Israelites longed to reenter their homeland. This return is seen as a fulfillment of God's promises and a restoration of the covenant relationship. In Ezra 1:3 , King Cyrus of Persia proclaims, "Whoever among you belongs to His people, may his God be with him, and may he go to Jerusalem in Judah and build the house of the LORD, the God of Israel." This decree marks the beginning of the Israelites' reentry into their land and the rebuilding of the temple.

Spiritual Reentry

Reentry also symbolizes a spiritual return to God. The parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32 illustrates this concept vividly. The younger son, after squandering his inheritance, decides to return to his father, seeking forgiveness and restoration. In Luke 15:20 , it is written, "So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still in the distance, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him." This passage highlights the joy and acceptance that accompany spiritual reentry and repentance.

Reentering the Promised Land

The Israelites' journey to reenter the Promised Land after their exodus from Egypt is another significant biblical narrative. Due to their disobedience, they wandered in the wilderness for forty years before reentering the land God had promised to their ancestors. In Joshua 1:2 , God commands Joshua, "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore arise, you and all these people, and cross over the Jordan into the land that I am giving to the children of Israel." This reentry signifies a new beginning and the fulfillment of God's promises.

Reentry into Fellowship

The New Testament also speaks of reentry into fellowship with God through Jesus Christ. In John 10:9 , Jesus declares, "I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture." This metaphorical reentry through Christ emphasizes salvation and the restoration of a right relationship with God.

Reentry in Eschatology

In eschatological terms, reentry can refer to the return of Christ and the reestablishment of God's kingdom on earth. Revelation 21:2-3 describes the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven, symbolizing the ultimate reentry of God's presence among His people: "I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.'"

Throughout Scripture, the theme of reentry underscores God's faithfulness, the possibility of redemption, and the hope of restoration for His people.
