Old Testament Foundations

In the Old Testament, divine reassurance is frequently seen in God's interactions with the patriarchs, prophets, and the nation of Israel. One of the earliest examples is found in God's promise to Abraham. In Genesis 15:1 , God says, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward." Here, God reassures Abram of His protection and blessing, despite Abram's uncertainty about his future and descendants.
