1Paul, Silvanus (Silas), and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ: 2Grace be unto you, and peace, from God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3We ought to always thank God for you, brothers and sisters, as it is only fitting, because your faith is growing more and more, and your love toward each other continues to increase, 4So that we tell other churches of God of your patience and faith amid all the persecutions and tribulations that you are enduring. 5This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you are counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering, 6God is just; and He will repay those that persecute you; 7And will give relief to you who are troubled, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8In flaming fire, taking vengeance on those that disregard both God, and the gospel message of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9They shall suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, removed from the presence of the Lord, and the glory of His power, 10When He comes to be glorified by His holy people, and to be marveled at and admired in that day by you and all that have believed our testimony. 11Therefore, we pray constantly for you, that our God would enable you to live worthy of His calling. May He give you the power to fulfill all your desire to serve and please Him. 12We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you glorified in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
