New Living Translation | King James Bible |
Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. | 1A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. |
Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. | 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: |
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. | 3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; |
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. | 4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; |
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! | 5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. |
The LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. | 6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. |
He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. | 7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. |
The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. | 8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. |
He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. | 9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. |
He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. | 10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. |
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. | 11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. |
He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. | 12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. |
The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. | 13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. |
For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. | 14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. |
Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. | 15As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. |
The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. | 16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. |
But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children | 17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; |
of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! | 18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. |
The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. | 19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. |
Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. | 20Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. |
Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! | 21Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. |
Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the LORD. | 22Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul. |
