New King James Version | International Standard Version |
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Contemplation of David when the Ziphites went and said to Saul, “Is David not hiding with us?” Save me, O God, by Your name, And vindicate me by Your strength. | 1God, by your name deliver me, and by your power vindicate me. |
Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth. | 2God, listen to my prayer, and pay attention to the words of my mouth. |
For strangers have risen up against me, And oppressors have sought after my life; They have not set God before them. Selah | 3For the arrogant have arisen against me; oppressors have sought to take my life. They do not keep God in mind! Interlude |
Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life. | 4Look, God is my helper; the Lord is with those who are guarding my life. |
He will repay my enemies for their evil. Cut them off in Your truth. | 5He will turn the evil upon those who lie in wait for me. Cut them off with your truth. |
I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O LORD, for it is good. | 6With a free will offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, LORD, because it is good, |
For He has delivered me out of all trouble; And my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies. | 7for he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eyes have seen the end of my enemies. |
