New King James Version | Christian Standard Bible |
A Psalm of Asaph. God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. | 1God stands in the divine assembly; he pronounces judgment among the gods: |
How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked? Selah | 2"How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah |
Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. | 3Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. |
Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked. | 4Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the power of the wicked." |
They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable. | 5They do not know or understand; they wander in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken. |
I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High. | 6I said, "You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High. |
But you shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.” | 7However, you will die like humans and fall like any other ruler." |
Arise, O God, judge the earth; For You shall inherit all nations. | 8Rise up, God, judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you. |
