| 2I said, "O LORD, rescue me from those who lie with their lips and those who deceive with their tongue. | 2Save me, LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues. |
| 3How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker? | 3What will he do to you, and what more besides, you deceitful tongue? |
| 4Here's how! With the sharp arrows of warriors, with arrowheads forged over the hot coals. | 4He will punish you with a warrior's sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom bush. |
| 5How miserable I am! For I have lived temporarily in Meshech; I have resided among the tents of Kedar. | 5Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek, that I live among the tents of Kedar! |
| 6For too long I have had to reside with those who hate peace. | 6Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. |
