He made a bronze altar, 30 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 15 feet high.1He made a bronze altar twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and ten cubits high.
He also made the big bronze basin called "The Sea." It measured 15 feet from rim to rim, was circular in shape, and stood seven and one-half feet high. Its circumference was 45 feet.2He also made the Sea of cast metal. It was circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim, five cubits in height, and thirty cubits in circumference.
Images of bulls were under it all the way around, ten every eighteen inches all the way around. The bulls were in two rows and had been cast with "The Sea."3Below the rim, figures of oxen encircled it, ten per cubit all the way around the Sea, cast in two rows as a part of the Sea.
"The Sea" stood on top of twelve bulls. Three faced northward, three westward, three southward, and three eastward. "The Sea" was placed on top of them, and they all faced outward.4The Sea stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The Sea rested on them, with all their hindquarters toward the center.
It was four fingers thick and its rim was like that of a cup shaped like a lily blossom. It could hold 18,000 gallons.5It was a handbreadth thick, and its rim was fashioned like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It could hold three thousand baths.
He made ten washing basins; he put five on the south side and five on the north side. In them they rinsed the items used for burnt sacrifices; the priests washed in "The Sea." 6He also made ten basins for washing and placed five on the south side and five on the north. The parts of the burnt offering were rinsed in them, but the priests used the Sea for washing.
He made ten gold lampstands according to specifications and put them in the temple, five on the right and five on the left.7He made ten gold lampstands according to their specifications and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north.
He made ten tables and set them in the temple, five on the right and five on the left. He also made one hundred gold bowls.8Additionally, he made ten tables and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. He also made a hundred gold bowls.
He made the courtyard of the priests and the large enclosure and its doors; he plated their doors with bronze.9He made the courtyard of the priests and the large court with its doors, and he overlaid the doors with bronze.
He put "The Sea" on the south side, in the southeast corner. 10He put the Sea on the south side, at the southeast corner.
Huram Abi made the pots, shovels, and bowls. He finished all the work on God's temple he had been assigned by King Solomon.11Additionally, Huram made the pots, shovels, and sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished the work that he had undertaken for King Solomon in the house of God:
He made the two pillars, the two bowl-shaped tops of the pillars, the latticework for the bowl-shaped tops of the two pillars,12the two pillars; the two bowl-shaped capitals atop the pillars; the two sets of network covering both bowls of the capitals atop the pillars;
the four hundred pomegranate-shaped ornaments for the latticework of the two pillars (each latticework had two rows of these ornaments at the bowl-shaped top of the pillar),13the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of network (two rows of pomegranates for each network covering both the bowl-shaped capitals atop the pillars);
the ten movable stands with their ten basins,14the stands; the basins on the stands;
the big bronze basin called "The Sea" with its twelve bulls underneath,15the Sea; the twelve oxen underneath the Sea;
and the pots, shovels, and meat forks. All the items King Solomon assigned Huram Abi to make for the LORD's temple were made from polished bronze.16and the pots, shovels, meat forks, and all the other articles. All these objects that Huram-abi made for King Solomon for the house of the LORD were of polished bronze.
The king had them cast in earthen foundries in the region of the Jordan between Succoth and Zarethan.17The king had them cast in clay molds in the plain of the Jordan between Succoth and Zeredah.
Solomon made so many of these items they did not weigh the bronze. 18Solomon made all these articles in such great abundance that the weight of the bronze could not be determined.
Solomon also made these items for God's temple: the gold altar, the tables on which the Bread of the Presence was kept,19Solomon also made all the furnishings for the house of God: the golden altar; the tables on which was placed the Bread of the Presence;
the pure gold lampstands and their lamps which burned as specified at the entrance to the inner sanctuary,20the lampstands of pure gold and their lamps, to burn in front of the inner sanctuary as prescribed;
the pure gold flower-shaped ornaments, lamps, and tongs,21the flowers, lamps, and tongs of gold—of purest gold;
the pure gold trimming shears, basins, pans, and censers, and the gold door sockets for the inner sanctuary (the most holy place) and for the doors of the main hall of the temple.22the wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, ladles, and censers of purest gold; and the gold doors of the temple: the inner doors to the Most Holy Place as well as the doors of the main hall.
