Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, | 1Then the LORD said to Moses, |
"See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. | 2"See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, |
"I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, | 3and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills-- |
to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze, | 4to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, |
and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in the carving of wood, that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship. | 5to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts. |
"And behold, I Myself have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all who are skillful I have put skill, that they may make all that I have commanded you: | 6Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you: |
the tent of meeting, and the ark of testimony, and the mercy seat upon it, and all the furniture of the tent, | 7the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law with the atonement cover on it, and all the other furnishings of the tent-- |
the table also and its utensils, and the pure gold lampstand with all its utensils, and the altar of incense, | 8the table and its articles, the pure gold lampstand and all its accessories, the altar of incense, |
the altar of burnt offering also with all its utensils, and the laver and its stand, | 9the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin with its stand-- |
the woven garments as well, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, with which to carry on their priesthood; | 10and also the woven garments, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests, |
the anointing oil also, and the fragrant incense for the holy place, they are to make them according to all that I have commanded you." | 11and the anointing oil and fragrant incense for the Holy Place. They are to make them just as I commanded you." |
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, | 12Then the LORD said to Moses, |
"But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. | 13"Say to the Israelites, 'You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. |
'Therefore you are to observe the sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. | 14"'Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people. |
'For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put to death. | 15For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death. |
'So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.' | 16The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. |
"It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed." | 17It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.'" |
When He had finished speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God. | 18When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God. |
