Psalm 123
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
1A Song of degrees. Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.1I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven.
2Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.2We keep looking to the LORD our God for his mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master, as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal.
3Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.3Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy, for we have had our fill of contempt.
4Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.4We have had more than our fill of the scoffing of the proud and the contempt of the arrogant.
