| 2God, listen to my prayer, and pay attention to the words of my mouth. | 2Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. |
| 3For the arrogant have arisen against me; oppressors have sought to take my life. They do not keep God in mind! Interlude | 3For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. |
| 4Look, God is my helper; the Lord is with those who are guarding my life. | 4Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. |
| 5He will turn the evil upon those who lie in wait for me. Cut them off with your truth. | 5He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. |
