He made a bronze altar 30 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 15 feet high.1Solomon also constructed a bronze altar 20 cubits long, 20 cubits wide, and ten cubits high.
Then he made the cast metal basin, 15 feet from brim to brim, perfectly round. It was 7 1/2 feet high and 45 feet in circumference.2He crafted a circular sea of cast metal 10 cubits from rim to rim and five cubits tall. A line 30 cubits long surrounded it.
The likeness of oxen was below it, completely encircling it, ten every half yard, completely surrounding the basin. The oxen were cast in two rows when the basin was cast.3Underneath, figurines resembling oxen encircled the circular sea beneath it, ten oxen every cubit, and encircling the sea completely. The oxen were in two rows, cast all at the same time.
It stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The basin was on top of them and all their hindquarters were toward the center.4The sea stood on top of twelve oxen, three of which faced to the north, three of which faced to the west, three of which faced to the south, and three of which faced toward the east. The sea was placed on top of the oxen, with all of their hindquarters turned inwards.
The basin was three inches thick, and its rim was fashioned like the brim of a cup or a lily blossom. It could hold eleven thousand gallons.5It was a handbreadth thick, with its brim fashioned like the brim of a cup. Similar in shape to a lily blossom, it could hold 3,000 baths.
He made ten basins for washing and he put five on the right and five on the left. The parts of the burnt offering were rinsed in them, but the basin was used by the priests for washing.6Solomon also made ten wash basins, placing five on the right side and five on the left. The basins were intended for use to rinse burnt offerings, and the sea was intended for use by the priests to wash in.
He made the ten gold lampstands according to their specifications and put them in the sanctuary, five on the right and five on the left.7Solomon made ten gold lamp stands as he had been directed and set them in the Temple, five on the south side and five on the north side.
He made ten tables and placed them in the sanctuary, five on the right and five on the left. He also made a hundred gold bowls.8He also made ten tables and placed them in the Temple, five on the right side and five on the left side. He also constructed 100 gold basins.
He made the courtyard of the priests and the large court, and doors for the court. He overlaid the doors with bronze.9He made the court of the priests, the great court, and doors for the court, overlaying their doors with bronze.
He put the basin on the right side, toward the southeast.10He set the sea at the southeast corner of the Temple.
Then Huram made the pots, the shovels, and the bowls. So Huram finished doing the work that he was doing for King Solomon in God's temple:11Hiram-abi crafted the pots, shovels, and basins, thus completing the work that he did for King Solomon on the Temple of God;
two pillars; the bowls and the capitals on top of the two pillars; the two gratings for covering both bowls of the capitals that were on top of the pillars;12that is, the two pillars, the bowls, the two capitals on top of the pillars, the two lattice works that covered the two bowls for the capitals that were on top of the pillars;
the four hundred pomegranates for the two gratings (two rows of pomegranates for each grating covering both capitals' bowls on top of the pillars).13the 400 pomegranate-shaped ornaments for the latticework of the two pillars (each latticework having two rows of ornaments at the bowl-shaped top of each pillar);
He also made the water carts and the basins on the water carts.14the ten stands with their ten basins;
The one basin and the twelve oxen underneath it,15the large bronze basin called the Sea with the twelve oxen underneath,
the pots, the shovels, the forks, and all their utensils--Huram-abi made them for King Solomon for the LORD's temple. All these were made of polished bronze.16along with its pots, shovels, forks, and all of its other implements that Hiram-abi made from polished bronze for King Solomon and the LORD's Temple.
The king had them cast in clay molds in the Jordan Valley between Succoth and Zeredah.17The king had them forged in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredah in the Jordan plain.
Solomon made all these utensils in such great abundance that the weight of the bronze was not determined.18Solomon made so many utensils in such great quantities that the weight of the bronze was never fully recorded.
Solomon also made all the equipment in God's temple: the gold altar; the tables on which to put the Bread of the Presence;19Solomon also made these items for God's Temple: the golden altar, the tables for the Bread of the Presence,
the lampstands and their lamps of pure gold to burn in front of the inner sanctuary according to specifications;20the lamp stands and their lamps made of pure gold to burn in front of the inner sanctuary, as required,
the flowers, lamps, and gold tongs--of purest gold;21the pure gold ornaments in the shape of flowers, the lamps, and the tongs (all made of the purest gold),
the wick trimmers, sprinkling basins, ladles, and firepans--of purest gold; and the entryway to the temple, its inner doors to the most holy place, and the doors of the temple sanctuary--of gold.22the gold trimming instruments, basins, pans, censers, and the gold door sockets for the inner sanctuary (that is, the Most Holy Place), and for the doors to the main hall of the Temple.
