| 2In pride the wicked pursue the needy; let them be caught in the schemes they devise. | 2The wicked arrogantly chase the oppressed; the oppressed are trapped by the schemes the wicked have dreamed up. |
| 3For the wicked man boasts in the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD. | 3Yes, the wicked man boasts because he gets what he wants; the one who robs others curses and rejects the LORD. |
| 4In his pride the wicked man does not seek Him; in all his schemes there is no God. | 4The wicked man is so arrogant he always thinks, "God won't hold me accountable; he doesn't care." |
| 5He is secure in his ways at all times; Your lofty judgments are far from him; he sneers at all his foes. | 5He is secure at all times. He has no regard for your commands; he disdains all his enemies. |

| 15Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer; call him to account for his wickedness until none is left to be found. | 15Break the arm of the wicked and evil man! Hold him accountable for his wicked deeds, which he thought you would not discover. |
