Contrast the Upright and the Wicked 1He who separates himself seeks his own desire, He quarrels against all sound wisdom.
A fool does not delight in understanding,
When a wicked man comes, contempt also comes,
The words of a mans mouth are deep waters;
To show partiality to the wicked is not good,
A fools lips bring strife,
A fools mouth is his ruin,
The words of a whisperer are like dainty morsels,
He also who is slack in his work
The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
A rich mans wealth is his strong city,
Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
He who gives an answer before he hears,
The spirit of a man can endure his sickness,
The mind of the prudent acquires knowledge,
A mans gift makes room for him
The first to plead his case seems right,
The cast lot puts an end to strife
A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city,
With the fruit of a mans mouth his stomach will be satisfied;
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
He who finds a wife finds a good thing
The poor man utters supplications,
A man of too many friends comes to ruin, NASB 1995 Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, Calif. All rights reserved. For Permission to Quote Information visit http://www.lockman.org Bible Hub |
