Yahudi Mordekay, Kral Ahaşveroş'tan sonra ikinci adam olmuştu. Yahudi soydaşları arasında saygı gören ve çoğunluk tarafından sevilen biriydi. Çünkü halkının iyiliğini düşünüyor, bütün soydaşlarının esenliği için çaba gösteriyordu.
