New American Standard Bible Warnings and Instructions 1Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.
Let another praise you, and not your own mouth;
A stone is heavy and the sand weighty,
Wrath is fierce and anger is a flood,
Better is open rebuke
Faithful are the wounds of a friend,
A sated man loathes honey,
Like a bird that wanders from her nest,
Oil and perfume make the heart glad,
Do not forsake your own friend or your fathers friend,
Be wise, my son, and make my heart glad,
A prudent man sees evil and hides himself,
Take his garment when he becomes surety for a stranger;
He who blesses his friend with a loud voice early in the morning,
A constant dripping on a day of steady rain
He who would restrain her restrains the wind,
Iron sharpens iron,
He who tends the fig tree will eat its fruit,
As in water face reflects face,
Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied,
The crucible is for silver and the furnace for gold,
Though you pound a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain,
Know well the condition of your flocks,
For riches are not forever,
When the grass disappears, the new growth is seen,
The lambs will be for your clothing,
And there will be goats milk enough for your food, New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, Calif. All rights reserved. For Permission to Quote Information visit http://www.lockman.org Bible Hub |
