(a) This is the wicked counsel of his enemies to him and his companions to drive him from the hope of God's promise. For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? If the {b} foundations be destroyed, what can the {c} righteous do?
(b) All hope of help is taken away. (c) Yet am I innocent and my cause good. The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
