Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. I. HE "WALKS IN" AND IS "LED BY THE SPIRIT," i.e., he has — 1. A heart always open to Divine influence. 2. A life subordinate to Divine rule. II. HE CONQUERS THE FLESH. 1. In the inward strife described here, and in Romans 7., the Christian is not under the law of the flesh, but subdues the corrupt nature and brings it into subjection to the Spirit. 2. He does this daily. III. HE BRINGS FORTH THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT. Examine yourself by the list (vers. 22, 23).
