This severity is evident — 1. In the chastisements of the godly, and — 2. In the utter destruction of the impenitent. III. THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD IN ITS GRACIOUS INTENTION — "and the bush was not consumed." 1. God in Christ is a Saviour. 2. The operations of the Holy Spirit purify the soul, but do not destroy the man.
