Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: God's hand may be laid very heavily upon us, but faith interprets all as administered in love. Therefore, while joy may be absent, peace may reign supreme in the soul. We should not depreciate Christian joy. To "rejoice with joy unspeakable" is our blessed privilege. But peace is that which our Saviour especially bequeathed as the peculiar inheritance of His children while on earth.
