We like to hear the narrative of a journey from the traveller himself. In a court of law they will have no hearsay evidence. Tell us, says the judge, not what your neighbour said, but what you saw yourself. Personal evidence of the power of grace has a wonderfully convincing force upon the conscience. "I sought the Lord, and He heard me," is better argument than all the Butler's Analogies that will ever be written, good as they are in their place.
