Yet if men were equally honest with themselves and at New Year's breaking, or any time of solemn impression, spoke their candid feelings, one would cry "Pleasure," another "Gold," another "Fame," another "Power," and, thank God, not a few would cry "To me to live is Christ." Ambition in itself is not evil; all depends on its quality, its supreme aim. Paul had three ambitions, and each of them was noble and worthy of a Christ-purchased and Christ-possessed soul.
